Detailed Directions

Via GPS  Huron Mountain Club, 4700 N. County Road KK, Big Bay, MI 49808.  Follow “After the Gate” directions below thereafter.

Driving from Marquette to the Club’s main office (from Wright Street)

  • Head north at the roundabout with a convenience store on the corner – onto Sugarloaf Rd. towards Rt. 550 North &  Big Bay. (Main entrance to Northern Michigan University is across Wright Street from the convenience store)

  • Turn left after ½ mile at the T intersection to stay on Rt. 550 North; proceed straight for about 24 miles

  • When in Bay Bay, turn left in front of the Thunder Bay Hotel (Sign is a large ship’s wheel); follow the road around a curve to the right; go past the cemetery on the left

  • Proceed about 5 miles (on County Road KK) to the end of the paved road and the Huron Mountain Club gate.

  • Follow the signs for Huron Mountain, avoiding roads to Ives Lake (to the left) or Conway Lake (to the right).

  • Go about four miles.  A quarter mile after crossing a small bridge (over Pine River) there is a three-way fork in the road. Stay on the main road by bearing to the right. About 300 yards later, there is a cluster of buildings and another three-way fork.

  • At this fork, turn right at the “Office” sign, (100 yards before you get to a small Stop sign and the main bridge over Pine River. The Club Office is about 50 yards on the left.
